How soon before our wedding should we come in to Selix Formalwear and reserve our formalwear rentals?

Selix Formalwear offers you the chance to pre-register your wedding TODAY! It’s never too early to start planning the formalwear for your wedding. Many brides will start choosing styles and colors six to nine months before the wedding date. However, we have brides that will come in two years before their wedding date. On the opposite extreme, we do have wedding parties that show up the week of their wedding and make the last minute decisions with little time to spare. Selix Formalwear has been working with brides and grooms since 1906 and we will make your formalwear experience simple and worry free.

How do we pre-register with Selix Formalwear and why should we do it?

When you pre-register with Selix Formalwear, your registration will be sent to the location of your choice. You can go into that Selix Formalwear location and your information will be on file. You will also reserve one of our exclusive “Internet Specials” for your wedding party. This gives you a head start with a savings advantage on your formalwear.

Selix Formalwear can assist you in both renting and purchasing formalwear. Many wedding parties choose to rent their formalwear because they feel that they will not wear formalwear often enough to justify the cost of owning it. Others want to wear a suit that has been tailored just for their body. Still other wedding parties choose a combination of renting and purchasing depending upon the individual needs of each member.

Selix Formalwear offers a fantastic variety of styles that can be used to coordinate with every bride’s and bridesmaid’s dress styles and colors. There are traditions that can help you determine what styles will best fit your wedding party based on the size of the wedding, time of day, location and formality of the bride’s dress. Our associates will be pleased to show you both traditional and contemporary styles to help you make your final choices of formalwear for your wedding party.

With more than 100 different colors in vests and cummerbunds, Selix Formalwear offers a full selection of accessories to make your formalwear look exceptional with every dress. Whether your bridesmaids are wearing floor-length or tea-length gowns, we offer classic and contemporary styles to coordinate nicely.

Selix Formalwear offers a “Wedding Measurement Blank” to assist you with getting sizes for anyone coming in from other states or other countries. Just send a copy of this form to the person or persons whom you wish to get measured and tell them to go to the closest formalwear rental store or qualified men’s wear store to get measured. Once they have been fitted, they will send their measurements to the Selix Formalwear location that your wedding is registered at and the tuxedo will be available to pick-up along with the other tuxedo rentals. Selix Formalwear does require that all measurements be received no less than 10 days before the designated pick-up date to insure availability.

The bride’s father plays a central part in many ceremonies because he “gives the bride” to the groom. Because of his role, the bride’s father should be as formal as the bestman and groomsmen. While he may or may not be part of the “wedding party”, the groom’s father will appear in many group photographs and often will speak at the reception. Dressing the grandfathers in tuxedos makes them a special part of the wedding and also makes them prominent in the photographs as well.

Yes. Selix Formalwear has 16 store locations in Northern California and Nevada to accommodate your wedding party. In addition, we have more than 300 Authorized Selix Formalwear Dealers that are available to assist your wedding party as well.

Selix Formalwear maintains our customers sizes in our file for 1-2 years. We do suggest that you get re-measured if you are under 21 years of age and if the last time you rented was more than 3 months past. We also suggest you get re-measured if you think you may have changed size for any reason. This said, we have many individuals whom use their file measurements year after year to rent formalwear and find it very convenient to do so.

Selix Formalwear often will offer a group discount for both rental and purchase in an effort to accommodate those who wish to purchase as well as those whom wish to rent. Each of our locations carries a selection of tuxedos, vests, shirts, shoes and other accessories to purchase. And if we can quantify a large need to either purchase or rent tuxedos by guests for a given wedding or event, we often will offer discounts on our regular prices.

Our rental inventory includes sizes from a Boys 3 (typically fits a three year old child) to a Mens size 70 Long (fits a man with 70” chest) and every size in between. Selix Formalwear offers not only the common even sizes, but also the uneven sizes and unusual sizes that most other formalwear rental companies don’t carry. We do this because it allows us to make a more accurate fit on those individuals whom don’t fit into “off-the-rack” sizes.

Selix Formalwear will inform you of your pick-up date and pick-up time at the time that you choose your formalwear styles. Each individual rental receipt will also contain this information in case you or your groomsmen are unsure.

Yes. Selix Formalwear has a network of more than 300 Authorized Dealers whom will service you with the care and professionalism that any of our store locations will. We ask that you notify the Selix Formalwear location that your wedding is registered at that one or more of your wedding party will be picking up at an Authorized Dealer location. We do request that you try on your formalwear rental in our Selix Formalwear store on the specified pick–up date. This gives us the chances to show you how to adjust the pants, vest, bowtie (or necktie) and jewelry. It also gives us the opportunity to arrange for any additional changes or adjustments that may be needed.

Selix Formalwear offers a selection of suits and sport coats to rent for a more casual look. This includes our Black Cashmere sport coat that most men love so much-they can’t take it off once they put it on!

We offer one free formalwear rental for every five paid rentals, two free for every ten paid rentals, three free for every fifteen paid rentals and so on. Many grooms will choose to take the free tuxedo rental for themselves while others may wish divide out the free rental and give each member of the wedding party a discount.

Selix Formalwear offers our special “Website Promotions” that give every member of the wedding party a discount. We will be happy to divide up any free rental (one free rental with every five paid rentals) amongst other members of the wedding party so that everyone receives a discount.

You may pay for your rental in full at anytime up to and including the pick-up date. Selix Formalwear does require that you make a minimum down payment of $20.00 on each formalwear rental at the time that it is ordered.

Your formalwear rental is due the next business day that your Selix Formalwear location is open. Depending on the date of the wedding, your formalwear may be due back Sunday or Monday. It is very important that you return your formalwear on time. Selix Formalwear is able to provide your tuxedo on a timely basis because the person that rented it before you returned it on time. You will also avoid late fees if you return it on time.

In most styles and sizes the answer is “yes”! Selix Formalwear will make every effort to make the purchase of your rental possible. To make arrangements for this we require that you order your tuxedo for purchase 6 weeks or more before the wedding date. This allows Selix Formalwear enough time to order from the manufacturer in the event that the size or style is not currently in stock. And to change the order if the items are no longer available for purchase.

Selix Formalwear offers several different extended rental packages. These include our “Very Best” and “Better” Cruise Packages which can be kept for up to 10 days and also include an extra shirt, tie and cummerbund.
